Crisis in Our Executive Branch

LAUREN MILLER KARALUNAS
Democracy Counsel, Brennan Center for Justice
Lauren Miller Karalunas is counsel in the Brennan Center’s Democracy Program, where she litigates voting rights, election interference, and constitutional law cases, advises lawmakers and administrators on legislation and policy, and testifies before state legislatures. Prior to joining the Brennan Center, Miller Karalunas was a Public Rights Project Fellow and special assistant state’s attorney in the Cook County (Illinois) State’s Attorney’s Office, where she worked in the affirmative and impact litigation section. Miller Karalunas has commented on voting and other democracy issues for a variety of media outlets, including the Associated Press, NPR, and Rolling Stone. She has a BA with honors and distinction from Stanford University and earned her JD from Yale Law School. She clerked for Judge John R. Blakey of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

ELEANOR NEFF POWELL
Professor of Political Science, UW-Madison
Eleanor Neff Powell is the Letters & Science Nancy Obin Sukenik Professor of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Powell received her A.B. from Princeton University, M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from Harvard University, and previously served as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Yale University. She is a scholar of American politics with focuses on the United States Congress, political parties and the influence of money in American politics. While her primary research interests lie in American politics, she has secondary research interests in Comparative Politics and Political Methodology. Her research has appeared in the American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, the British Journal of Political Science, and Political Science Research and Methods among other journals. Previously, she's served as President of the Midwest Political Science Association and as a co-founder of Women in Legislative Studies.

STEPHEN VLADECK
Law Professor, Georgetown University Law Center
Stephen Vladeck is a nationally recognized expert on the federal courts; the Supreme Court; national security law; and military justice. He authored "The Shadow Docket: How the Supreme Court Uses Stealth Rulings to Amass Power and Undermine the Republic," and is a highly regarded appellate advocate,. Stephen has received numerous awards for his influential and widely cited legal scholarship, prolific popular writing, his teaching, and his service to the legal profession. Vladeck graduted from Yale Law School in 204 - where he was executive editor of the Yale Law Journal and won the Harlan Fiske Stone Prize for outstanding moot court oralist.
